COURG

SEASON

TUCKED AWAY IN THE CORNER OF the french countryside

Live a gaggle of farmers and winemakers dedicated to nourishing their community with organic vegetation, wine crafted through hundreds of years of refined process and art that comes straight from the heart. This haven is called the Loire Valley and in this area everyone has soil under their fingernails, paintings on their walls and brimming bookcases. The culture of this region is rich with a love for the history of the land. This area sits close to my heart because it’s where my parents chose to retire half a decade ago.

Throughout the years of 2020-2025 I have many times made the long journey from Los Angeles to see both my family and it catalogue (via my film camera) the parts of this region that speak directly to my heart. The photographs below are a selection of an ever-evolving journalistic series and are reflected in an accompanying short film, Courgette Season, which will be released in the summer of 2025.
